First-Time Installation

On purchase of Vitruvius, an email containing the download link for the Vitruvius-Setup.exe will be sent to you.  The link can also be found by accessing your downloads under your account at the Vitruvius Website.  Once you have received the Vitruvius application download link, you can proceed to download the necessary Vitruvius-Setup.exe file for installation.  Click the link or paste it into your browser to retrieve the Vitruvius-Setup.exe. If you have downloaded the Vitruvius-Setup.zip first unzip the contents and then run the Vitruvius-Setup.exe.

Before installation please review the minimum system requirements. If you are having trouble installing the application please send us the Vitruvius installation log. 

Once downloaded or extracted double-click on the Vitruvius-Setup.exe file to begin the installation process.  

You will be prompted by Windows security to give Vitruvius the correct access rights for the installation.  Select yes to continue.

The first screen of the installation process will alert you to how much space is required on your hard drive, and where the installation files will be placed.  Check the box indicating your agreement to the license terms and conditions and click next to proceed.

Now click Accept and Install to begin the installation process.

You should now see the progress of the installation process.

Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0 is included with this download. If you have never installed Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0 on your computer the installation process will now guide you through doing so.

Accept the terms and click next to continue.

Once Microsoft SQL Compact 4.0 has been installed the Vitruvius installation will resume.

Once the installation has completed click the Run button to open the application or Finish to open it later.

On the first run of the application, it will look for the latest version and, if applicable, will begin installation of the latest version.  The most up-to-date version is required at this time.  Please proceed by once again selecting yes during the Windows security prompt.  

Click install to install the new version. 

Once installation has completed you will need to re-open Vitruvius by clicking the Vitruvius.exe that was placed on your desktop during installation.

Now that the latest version has been installed normal startup should occur.  You will see the status of the app displayed in the System Details box. Once the system is ready for login, the "single sign-on" email and password fields will appear.  Fill out these fields with the email and password that was used during purchase of the license. Click Login to continue.
